What Is Yo-Yo Eating Habit?

Wanting to lose weight and diet is a very common phenomenon which takes over so many people especially young girls. To stay slim is considered to be an in thing and often people follow severe measures to achieve it. It is important to lose weight in order to stay healthy, active and look attractive. Weight loss journey is a very slow and steady process and must be done by eating healthy combined with physical workout and exercise. However, some people take on to follow harsh measures like extreme dieting commonly referred as food fads or yo-yo dieting. 

Food fad and yo-yo dieting refer to idiosyncratic eating habit which aims at achieving short term weight loss. In such type of diet people often starve or refuse to eat in order to gain temporary popularity completely ignoring the long term impact on the health.

The weight loss attained from such a type of diet plan may give an initial gratification to the dieter and he/she may take pride in rejecting food. But it is not possible to carry on with this diet for a long term and the dieter may revert back to their old eating habits. People may also suffer from depression and fatigue if carry on with the diet for long. It is also likely that some become emotional eater and take on to binge eating which eventually lead to weight gain.

There are many aftermath effects of such from of eating habits. For good health and desire to loose weight one need to follow healthy eating habits and inclusion of physical activity in daily routine. Eating the right kind of food at regular intervals, regular workout, and proper sleep are important component of lifestyle management which is very important in order to loose weight. Resort to eating baked food made in electric oven or microwave. Baked food need less oil and dose not destroy the nutritional value of the food.
